Scrolling through endless options of summer teams, the decision may seem like a difficult one. But appearances are deceiving. Because if you love building honest relationships, if you are passionate about pursuing God wholeheartedly, if you love adventure and laughing till you can’t breathe - Kilbroney is OBVIOUSLY where you want to be!! Kilbroney is an all girls’ camp (so it smells AMAZING 24/7), and a place where we are all about having a crazy time (BOULDERING, CANOEING, BEING YOURSELF NO MATTER HOW WEIRD YOU ARE). No - we are not just about painting nails (but we still appreciate awesome nail art). We are about reminding girls of how loved they are by their Father and Creator, encouraging them to find their confidence in Jesus, and seeing them flourish in the relationship they were made for.
13th -20th July
The stunning, picturesque, luxurious Kilbroney Centre - a gem hidden amongst the mountains of Mourne, with luscious expansive grounds, ready to be explored and adventured.
What a volunteer can expect:
They can expect to have a great time (and they will not be disappointed).
There is room for people of all personalities, gifts and interests! If you specialise in devising ridiculous dramas, designing an Instagram-worthy prayer room, having daily DMCs - whatever it is, we would love to have you.
And ESPECIALLY if you enjoy being a kitchen queen and fancy giving Nigella* a run for her money - we would love to have someone along to cook!!
*your meals do not have to be the same standard as Nigella’s
Cost - about £120 for drivers/£130 non-drivers.
This includes food, accommodation and activities!
Us leaders come down on the Saturday to set up and have a Chinese/chippy before welcoming the girls on Sunday. We really want everyone to feel valued and included so we aim to have around 3 chilled evening meetings during the year before camp!
Team leaders (all leaders have a special camp nickname - one of our many wonderful camp traditions):
Karis Fitch & Lucy McMechan
Beetz (Karis Fitch):
Beetz is currently in her 3rd year studying medicine at Queen’s, which keeps her busy and explains why she is quite weird (though in a good way, we promise.) The best way to describe Beetz is sunshine in human form, with the natural ability to always make you laugh or smile no matter WHAT. She loves spending time with people and is especially passionate about encouraging girls to find their worth in Jesus. She values real relationships and has a heart for mission!
Sparkle (Lucy McMechan)
Sparkle is in her 3rd year studying Dentistry at Queen’s and the best way to describe her is a real life Disney princess. Sparkle is the perfect person to lead a girls’ camp because she can make any room look like a palace and has the BEST handwriting. She also is super excited to build relationships with the girls and to have the opportunity to disciple them in their walk with God. She is looking forward to helping the girls cultivate hearts for prayer and reading God's word for themselves.
